We are always keen to talk to people interested in joining our Engineering Professional Development Scheme. We historically recruit:
- Graduates in mechanical, electrical, control systems and software engineering and other suitable scientific disciplines for one or two years professional training depending on previous experience.
- Engineering students who require a one year industrial placement as part of University course.
The training and experience gained at ALSTEC by both new graduates and students on Industrial Placements provides the basis for membership of professional bodies and chartered status.
We are looking for individuals who, in addition to a good degree in engineering or science, can demonstrate flexibility and enthusiasm, who enjoy making things work and are, therefore, adept at practical problem solving in addition to demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills.
Expanding their knowledge and realising their full potential should be high on their list of priorities.
The future is important to us all, so we are looking for individuals that can both shape and share their future with us.
What we offer
People are our most important resource, both now and for the future. Graduates who join our graduate training programme are offered a comprehensive and structured development programme of up to 2 years approved by both the I Mech E and IEE.
Graduates and industrial placement students are registered with the appropriate professional engineering institution as being on our Professional Development Scheme will maintain a professional development record. The training and experience gained during an industrial placement year counts towards professional development and training requirements for chartered status whether training and development is completed with ALSTEC or another company.
The programme is tailored to reflect individual goals and development needs. You will gain a broad range of experience in a variety of departments, after which your training will enable you to specialise within your chosen area.
We are committed to our graduates gaining full professional status and to continued professional development (CPD). Our mentoring programme will help to guide you to achieve professional recognition.
We believe that through our graduate development programme you will be able to establish your career goals, reflect on your progression and achieve your aspirations.
